Dr. Antara Dasgupta is the Senior Radar Scientist at Cloud to Street, where she evaluates radar satellite data and develops radar-based algorithms to improve flood mapping accuracy. She recently earned a dually-badged Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and Monash University, and received her Master's degree in Remote Sensing from the Faculty of Geoinformation Science and Earth Observation. In addition to her passion towards leveraging radar data for flood monitoring, she has a keen interest in improving flood inundation forecasting accuracy through the integration of multiple flood data sources with numerical models.
Antara has lived through some devastating floods in India, which drives her commitment towards better understanding and communicating flood risk. She was recently awarded the SSSI Victorian Spatial Excellence Award by the Department of Civil Engineering - Monash University, for outstanding contributions by a graduate student towards the advancement of the spatial sciences and was recognized as one of the Rising Stars of Asia – Women in Engineering by the Asian Dean's Forum in 2019. Antara already has a number of academic publications and is passionate about making scientific communication more accessible.
